Demystifying internet architecture without AI fluff, affiliate bias, or impenetrable jargon.

The modern web is broken. If you want to understand how a piece of digital infrastructure works, you are usually forced to choose between two extremes: computer science documentation written for senior engineers, or SEO-spammed, AI-generated filler written for search engines.

ExplainTheWeb was built to be the bridge. We are a digital literacy atlas designed for product managers, marketers, designers, and curious consumers who need to understand exactly how the internet routes data, caches assets, and tracks users.

The Architect: Built by an Engineer

ExplainTheWeb is developed, engineered, and exclusively authored by Tanzeel Ali, a WordPress developer, web architecture researcher, and privacy advocate.

I don’t just write about the web; I build on it. My hands-on background in WordPress core environments, server management, and DNS routing ensures that every concept on this site is grounded in real-world application, not theoretical guesswork. I built this platform because I believe you shouldn’t need a computer science degree to understand the tools you use every single day.

Our 4 Structural Principles (The Editorial Standard)

To maintain our position as a trusted educational resource, every guide, blueprint, and analogy published on this site is governed by four strict editorial rules:

1. 100% Human-Authored (Zero AI Generation) We do not use Large Language Models (like ChatGPT or Gemini) to write our tutorials. AI systems confidently hallucinate technical facts. Every word on this site is researched, structured, and typed by a human engineer.

2. Real-World Analogy Mapping Technical jargon is often used as a gatekeeping mechanism. On this site, no abstract technical term is introduced without a physical-world baseline. We don’t just tell you what a DNS resolver is; we map it to a Phonebook. We don’t just define Caching; we explain it using a Kitchen Counter.

3. Code-Level Verification The web changes rapidly. Our technical explanations, especially regarding browser privacy and third-party tracking, are tested against real browser behaviors and live server environments before publication.

4. Independent Infrastructure We are not a disguised affiliate blog. We do not accept paid tool placements, sponsored software reviews, or hidden sponsorships. If we recommend a tool or a protocol, it is because it represents the highest engineering standard, not because we are paid to say so.

(Note on Funding: The site is currently self-funded. As we scale, we may introduce standard, privacy-respecting display advertising to cover server costs, but this will never influence our editorial content).

Technical Review & Corrections Policy

We treat this site as a living, academic resource. While we rigorously fact-check our guides, web protocols evolve. If you are a working engineer and spot a technical inaccuracy, an outdated protocol, or a flawed analogy, we want to hear from you.

Please report technical corrections, infrastructure questions, or privacy inquiries directly to the site architect: Email: [email protected]
